Yoga

Our yoga classes are open to adults of all ages and ability levels. Yoga has been practiced for healing, well-being, and spiritual development for thousands of years. Yoga consists of physical postures, breathing practices, meditation, and deep relaxation. These practices encourage deeper clarity, strength, and health for body and mind. Our classes offer a wide range of possibilities to make yoga accessible for people in all physical or mental circumstances.

Note: cancer patients and their caregivers are welcome to attend YogaCares: Therapeutic Yoga for Cancer Patients at no cost.


Back Care Basics
For a chronically achy or stiff back, learn basic yoga tools for greater ease in this introductory two-part therapeutic workshop. We will explore how breathing, movement and mindfulness practices can help release tension, relieve pain and support your back. Bring your curiosity! You’ll leave with ideas you can apply in daily life right away.

Caution: There are some conditions for which this program may not be beneficial in a group setting, including: newly injured or severe disc compression or herniation, with radiating/nerve pain; recent surgery for back, shoulder, or neck; and spondylolisthesis. For questions or consultation regarding individual yoga therapy, please contact the instructor. Fee: $175 ($345 for both, if taken with Yoga for Healthy Digestion)

Yoga for Healthy Digestion
When we are digesting well, we support our energy, attention, immune system, and overall wellbeing. Yoga and Ayurveda view healthy digestion as fundamental to our resilience and resistance to disease. This introductory two-part workshop teaches basic Yoga practices for everyday digestive health.

Better Breath to De-Stress
When you feel frazzled, tense and stressed, check your breath. If you can’t get past being tired and wired, or feel like you’re struggling with “fuzzy brain,” better breathing can be vital. Learn to connect your breath with your mind, mood and energy. You’ll leave with basic breath skills that are very do-able in daily life and yet have potent clarifying effects. See how to cultivate relaxed alertness, relieve tension, and balance your energy.
