New Video: Mindfulness Based Childbirth & Parenting: UMass Med School Grand Rounds

Would you like to learn more about Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting? Tune into a live webcast at 9:00 am Pacific time (noon EST) on Tuesday, September 30 for the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Family Medicine & Community Health’s Grand Rounds. The instructor is Jennifer Moffitt, CNM, RN, MSN, Perinatal Manager at UMass Memorial.

The learning objectives include:

  • Define mindfulness and identify the evidence-based physiological and psychological benefits of present moment awareness, as related to pregnancy, labor, birth, and parenting;
  • Understand the origins of the Mindfulness Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) program;
  • Experience two evidence-based mindfulness meditations that are taught in MBCP classes;
  • Envision the applicability of MBCP to a busy community health center / hospital practice.
