April 25-27: The Mindful Caregiver: Caregiving for Self and Other
This training program is open to all participants with no prior caregiving experience required. Anyone who is currently, or anticipates being, a caregiver, or someone simply curious about issues related to death and dying would benefit from participation.
The program is designed for both professional and informal caregivers caring for someone living with chronic or terminal illness. Because our experience is in hospice and palliative care, the content will address issues related to dying and mortality. Mindfulness and contemplative tools will be offered as the foundation for increasing compassion and resiliency when caring for persons with chronic or terminal illnesses. The training is designed to be engaging, instructive, and rejuvenating.
Trainers: The lead trainers are Roy Remer, Director of Volunteer Services and Shelley Adler, PhD, Director of Education. There will also be guest presenters and additional facilitating by Zen Hospice Project Volunteer Caregivers.
