“Yoga gives us the tools to get to know ourselves on a deeper level, bring us to higher level of awareness and promote healing from within.”

Renée has been practicing yoga since 1999, is a graduate of the Chopra University, Yoga teacher training program and has worked as a registered nurse for over 25 years. She believes that yoga gives us the tools to heal, to get to know ourselves on a deeper level and to bring us to higher level of awareness.

Renée continues to deepen her practice and study of yoga, and has studied with various yoga/vedic masters. Renée is also an Ayurvedic Practitioner (holistic medical healing system from India). She first came to the UCSF Osher Center as a yoga teacher for a research study on Yoga For Depression.

She has worked as a registered nurse in home healthcare settings, assisting thousands of people facing a wide range of conditions, from surgical wounds to end-stage cancer. Her experience as a nurse has developed her ability to appreciate and connect with people from all walks of life.

Renée grew up in the United States, Europe and Japan. The experience of these diverse cultures awakened an understanding and deep appreciation of not only the complexities of our humanity, but also its common thread.
