Anand Dhruva, MD has always had an interest in non-traditional approaches to health and healing. He completed his training in internal medicine at Emory University in Atlanta and completed his hematology and medical oncology fellowship at UCSF. Dr. Dhruva is on the Hematology-Oncology faculty at San Francisco General Hospital, and is currently participating in the distant-learning fellowship Program in Integrative Medicine from the University of Arizona.
Dr. Dhruva also has a particular interest in Ayurvedic medicine and attended the 2006 World Ayurveda Congress in India. As a practicing medical oncologist, he is well acquainted with the standard approaches to cancer and the concerns of patients with cancer; and has been working closely with Donald Abrams, MD, Director of Clinical Programs at the Osher Center, in the new modality of Integrative Oncology. The goals of his practice are to integrate safe and effective complementary healing approaches into standard cancer care and survivorship.
