im4us
Please join us August 18-20 in Irvine, California for the Integrative Medicine for the Underserved (IM4US) conference. IM4US is a collaborative, multidisciplinary group of people committed to affordable, accessible integrative healthcare for all. Through outreach, education, research, and advocacy, they support those dedicated to promoting health in underserved populations. Together, they work to shift the current paradigm towards wellness, prevention, patient empowerment, and self-care.

Several Osher Center researchers and clinicians (present and past) are very active with IM4US, including current IM4US Board members, researcher Maria Chao, DrPH and Priscilla Abercrombie, RN, NP, PhD, who retired from the Osher Center last year. Clinician Rick McKinney, MD is immediate past president. Presenters from the Osher Center at this year’s conference include:

  • Elizabeth Adler: Mindfulness For the Clinician: Dismantling Systemic Bias in Health Care Delivery
  • Brittany Blockman, MD: Effectiveness of a Mind-Body and Peer Support Program for Teens Living with Chronic Illness and Their Parents: A Pilot Study
