The UCSF Osher Center is proud to announce a new collaboration with the Native American Health Center’s Community Wellness Department at 333 Valencia Street in San Francisco. Beginning in June, we will be teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) to NAHC staff from several locations at the Friendship House, a partner organization. Longtime Osher Center MBSR instructor James Mitchell, PhD, who specializes in cross-cultural practices, will teach the class.
The Osher Center is honored to collaborate with this well-respected non-profit organization. The mission of the Native American Health Center’s mission is to provide comprehensive services to improve the health and well-being of American Indians, Alaska Natives, and residents of the surrounding communities, with respect for cultural and linguistic differences. As both of our organizations focus on healing the whole person, and work with both western medicine, as well as proven traditional healing regimens, we look forward to future collaborations for many years to come!
