Judith Wrubel, PhD, is Research Specialist in the Department of Medicine. She received her PhD in Human Development and Aging at UCSF.
Dr. Wrubel is an expert in qualitative analysis. Her research interests include the maintenance of well-being under conditions of chronic stress; coping with caregiving, and skill development in informal caregivers. She is co-investigator of a number NIMH-funded studies including a study of the role of coping and positive emotion in people newly diagnosed with HIV, a study of gay male couple support for medication adherence, and an intervention to increase the frequency and intensity of positive affect in men and women newly diagnosed with HIV. She serves as a member of the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine Qualitative Methods Core.
